kitasapa is a service owned by PT ANTUM DIGITAL NUSANTARA that helps small businesses send messages to their customers through the WhatsApp Business Platform. This page explains what data we handle, what it is used for, and what rights you have over it.
Two different roles
There are two kinds of people in this service, and their data is treated differently.
Our customers are the businesses that subscribe to kitasapa. For their data, we act as the data controller.
Message recipients are the buyers or customers of those businesses. For their data, we only process it on the instructions of our customers. It is the subscribing business, not us, that decides who is sent which message.
Data we handle
From subscribing customers
- Business name, address, phone number, email, and legal entity details, if any
- The phone number registered for sending
- Payment and subscription records
- System login records such as access times and IP addresses, for security
From message recipients
- The destination phone number
- The content of messages sent, and replies if the recipient replies
- Delivery status such as sent, delivered, or read
What the data is used for
- Running the service: sending messages, showing history, and calculating usage
- Billing subscriptions and usage
- Keeping the service secure and preventing abuse and spam
- Meeting legal obligations
We do not sell anyone's data. We also do not use the content of your customers' messages for our own marketing purposes.
Parties that also process data
Your messages are sent through Meta Platforms as the operator of the WhatsApp Business Platform, so destination numbers and message content pass through their systems and are subject to their policies. We also use server infrastructure providers to run the service. We only share data as far as needed for the service to work.
Storage and retention
- Data is stored on servers we manage, over encrypted connections.
- Message content and delivery history are kept for at most 90 days, unless the customer asks for a shorter period.
- Subscription and payment data are kept for as long as tax regulations require.
- If you stop subscribing: message data is deleted within 30 days after the service ends, unless there is a legal obligation to keep it.
Recipient consent is the customer's responsibility
Subscribing customers must make sure that recipients are actually willing to be contacted. Sending messages to people who never gave their number or never made a transaction is a breach of our terms of service and of WhatsApp's terms.
Your rights
You have the right to request a copy of your data, to ask for corrections if anything is wrong, and to request deletion as long as this does not conflict with legal obligations. Requests from message recipients will be forwarded to the business that sent the message, because that business controls the data.
